Tom Herington, M.D., PsyD.
Tom Herington is a physician, board-certified both in Internal Medicine and Occupational Medicine. Following an active medical practice of 20 years, he received a doctorate in clinical psychology. Currently, he teaches communication skills and leadership development to physicians through Regional Physician Education and Development at Kaiser Permanente. In addition, Tom has a private psychotherapy practice.
Tom was senior editor of the first textbook on Occupational Injuries and has been a lecturer for over 20 years at various Occupational Health conferences and UCSF Continuing Education programs. Currently, Tom is a member of the Neuropsychoanalysis Program Planning Committee of the Psychoanalytic Institute of Northern California.
Tom earned his PsyD from the California Institute of Integral Studies, and his MD from University of Minnesota Medical School, Minneapolis. He received his post graduate training at Pacific Presbyterian Medical Center, and University of California, San Francisco.
